Sammy Bananas takes on Europe

I’ve just expressed my excitement about the new Fool’s Gold compilation for Scion and then this thing drops. Sammy Bananas, who is of course signed to Fool’s Gold, is now heading to Europe for some exclusive dates around the continent. But if you don’t live in Norway, Finland or around a couple of major UK cities don’t worry; Sammy Bananas will still take care of you! To celebrate his journey to Europe he has just dropped a new free and pretty hot mix on the Fool’s Gold blog, featuring some pretty exclusive tracks. That sounds nice, doesn’t it? The man has also been busy creating a new 12″ which drops digitally and on wax today, so that might be a nice addition to your collection. I still wonder how long it will take before Chiquita starts getting pissed about Sammy’s graphics.

Justice let Planisphère out

Remember that Justice mix for Dior Homme a while ago? That was awesome, right? The only thing that really annoyed me about that mix was the semi poor sound quality and all the fashionista clapping at the end of the mix. But hey, if there’s a problem to be solved, Justice are there for you, and now they’re releasing the mix in proper quality under the cryptic title Planisphere. The mix is still awesome, but with the improved quality this thing really takes off. So find a comfortable chair and watch the stars as Justice burst your eardrum.

The bedroom DJ phenomena has been well known for a long time, and now it looks like there’s even extra points for making your mixes in your dusty little bedroom. I don’t really know if that is the case here, but Discobelle turned me onto a mix that XXXChange has created, entitled Live at home, and what a mix! Modeselektor finds the cure for jetlag

The phenomenon of jetlag always seems to ruin the perfect opportunities and moments. You’re travelling far far away and want to see something new, when all your head wants to see is pillows. Well, Modeselektor have lined up a cure for that. The perfect jetlag mix made especially for XLR8R to help you forget about the jetlag. The sound is classic Modeselektor’ish with some slow burning rhythms and a deep deep bass. I don’t know if this would help my jetlag, there is always the risk of simply falling a sleep, listening to something this pleasing for the ears, but I think Modeselektor keeps this mix fresh and interesting throughout and you might consider staying up for another couple of hours after listening to this. Flosstradamus whips up some Chicago house

This is quite a nice Saturday mix from Flosstradamus for the people at Mad Decent. The mix is matches various kinds of Chicago house and the result is hard hitting and well mixed. I don’t really have much else to say about this mix other than it rocked my socks off and keeps a high level of quality throughout.
