Sinden remixes Crystal Castles!

You like Sinden? Yup, me too. You like Crystal Castles? Same here. Would you like to see them create something together? Sure thing. Well today’s your lucky day, because Sinden just released his remix of Crystal Castles’ Crimewave on his Myspace. Is it good, you ask? It’s great. In my opinion it’s the best Crimewave remix by far and opposed to many of the other remixes it actually works with the track instead of just tearing things apart. There’s no doubt about the fact that Sinden is very talented, and this remix really shows why the guy’s a well respected dj. But check it out yourself and share your opinion in the comments section

Waiting for that Soulwax remix of MGMT

This has been driving me nuts lately. Will the world ever hear the real version of Soulwax’s MGMT remix? Can they really make us wait any longer? Their Chemical Brothers remix was great, and judging from the rips of the Kids remix from a 2manydjs set, this will be a true beauty too. But when will it drop? Until that question is answered, here is a another MGMT remix to fill your ears with. Aeroplane remixed Electric Feel, and while it by no means is as much of a banger as the Justice remix, it provides some great moments and a nice groove.

Crookers add some edge to Wiley

Crookers have been in heavy rotation recently, and the more I listen to them, the more I like them. They always deliver great mixes and remixes, and their Radio 1 Essential Mix is still one of my favourite mixes of the year so far. Lately I’ve been checking out some of their remixes, and their fidget house sounds seem to add a nice amount of edge to a lot of tracks. The most recent one I’ve heard is a new remix of Wiley’s Summertime, and while it still doesn’t beat To Protect and Entertain, it’s still a nice remix by normal standards.

Also, the Crookers album should be ready soon, I can’t really tell you how excited I am about that! Am I the only one?

If you love it, show it!

of Montreal gives us more Skeletal Lamping

Rolling Stone have just posted a new of Montreal track from the forthcoming album Skeletal Lamping due this October. The track, called Nonpareil Of Favor, continues where Hissing Fauna.. left us wanting more, but there’s a bit more edge to the new songs. The guitars are a lot heavier and dominate the sound a bit more, but the vocals are still trademark Kevin Barnes and you wouldn’t want them to be anymore hysterical or desperate. Check it out for youself:

Modeselektor finds the cure for jetlag

The phenomenon of jetlag always seems to ruin the perfect opportunities and moments. You’re travelling far far away and want to see something new, when all your head wants to see is pillows. Well, Modeselektor have lined up a cure for that. The perfect jetlag mix made especially for XLR8R to help you forget about the jetlag. The sound is classic Modeselektor’ish with some slow burning rhythms and a deep deep bass. I don’t know if this would help my jetlag, there is always the risk of simply falling a sleep, listening to something this pleasing for the ears, but I think Modeselektor keeps this mix fresh and interesting throughout and you might consider staying up for another couple of hours after listening to this. Also, many thanks to one of my favourite blogs around, Hot Biscuits for spreading the word on this.

You Love Her Coz She’s Dead kill 8-bit

The 8-bit genre seems to be in bloom after Crystal Castles breathed life into the gameboys and atari-keyboards all around the world. Now, several other bands seem to achieve succes with their 8-bit sounds, and while I’m not very impressed with most of them, You Love Her Coz She’s Dead managed to win me over. The style is a little more horror’ish than Crystal Castles and everything is a bit more crazy and messy, but that doesn’t make the music less amazing. There’s no looking back just a pursuit of musical kicks and You Love Her Coz She’s Dead will definately be one of the shinings stars on the 8-bit sky not far from now. Their track Superheroes will be part of the Kitsuné Maison 6 compilation and they’re releasing an EP in late November including some of their gems. Thanks to Hyperbole for spreading the word about this 8-bit madness.

The Cool Kids release Mountain Dew sponsored track

I don’t really know how to feel about these sponsored tracks. On one hand it’s great; we get new tracks, the artists get some of the money they would have lost otherwise with people downloading through p2p’s and that should be great. But I don’t really like the aspect of having a track that is equally Cool Kids and Mountain Dew. I like music and I like the Cool Kids, but I don’t like the thought of supporting Mountain Dew when all I want to do is support the Cool Kids. Am I completely wrong here? Feel free to contribute in the comments section. That being said, this is a sweet track. The chopped-up organ may sound a little weird at first, but it all makes much more sense, when the drums kick in.
